Office of Overseas Contingency Operations Oversight

David Stewart
Assistant Inspector General for Overseas Contingency Operations

Mission

The Office of Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) Oversight collaborates with the Department of Defense (DOD) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) Offices of Inspector General (OIGs) and coordinates OCO oversight planning and execution within State OIG to fulfill the joint “Lead Inspector General for Overseas Contingency Operations” (LIG-OCO) responsibilities of these three OIGs under Section 8L of the IG Act. The Office of OCO Oversight works with DOD OIG and USAID OIG to produce an annual joint strategic oversight plan for each OCO and a quarterly report on each OCO that includes a summary of the collective oversight of all OIGs for the whole-of-government effort in support of each OCO. The State OIG LIG-OCO page provides additional information regarding the LIG-OCO mandate and our joint responsibilities and publications with the DOD and USAID OIGs.
