This memorandum notifies the Department of State that the Acting Inspector General approved a one-year extension of the OIG’s current Strategic Plan. Thus, the current Strategic Plan, attached, will run through FY 2022.
Due to the current disruptive operating climate and in lieu of preparing its next multi-year Strategic Plan to begin in FY 2022, OIG will instead extend its current Strategic Plan by one year. Accordingly, its next multi-year Strategic Plan will be its FY 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.
OIG notes that the one-year extension will (1) better align OIG’s strategic planning process with the Joint Strategic Plan between the Department of State and the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID); and (2) align the next multi-year plan, FY 2023-2026, with OMB’s planning cycle.
