OIG recommends that the Office of Medical Services (MED) consult with the Office of the Legal Adviser to determine whether MED has the authority to collect copayments for overseas hospitalizations from employees and their eligible family members. If MED does have the authority, it should develop and implement policies and procedures to collect the copayments.
